Local children’s charity Charlie House announces the return of the Big Bounce for Summer 2025.
Children’s charity Charlie House has announced the popular family friendly event, the Big Bounce, will join the bumper line up of events in the City this summer.
Taking place right in the heart of the city centre, at Union Terrace Gardens, the event will run from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 August and promises four days of inflatable family fun.
Attracting more than 6,000 participants last year, the Big Bounce 2025 aims to be even bigger and better with the return of crowd favourites including a range of fun bouncy castles and slides, inflatable activities and family games. New for this year, the event will also welcome local traders and activity providers, alongside an expanded line-up of face painters, food and drink vendors, and even more inflatable fun to enjoy.

Delivery of the four-day event is managed by the Charlie House team supplemented by activity suppliers and more than 150 volunteers who generously give their time.
The event is free to attend however, participation in activities and bouncy castles requires the purchase of tickets.
Every penny raised through ticket sales helps provide accessible activities for children and families supported by the charity.
Charlie House supports babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions in the North-east of Scotland. It supports children to live as full a life as possible by providing inclusive and accessible activities for the whole family to enjoy and make precious memories together. Additionally, Charlie House provides information along with emotional and practical support.
Community & Events Manager, Ollie Middleton explains: “We’re excited to be back at Union Terrace Gardens for the Big Bounce 2025! It’s a big summer for the City with the Tall Ships visit and we’re thrilled to extend the party atmosphere into August.

“This year’s Bounce is shaping up to be bigger and bouncier – the ideal family day out! The local community really got behind the Bounce last year and we can’t wait to welcome families ready to play while raising vital funds.”
Ollie continues: “Family time and play is an essential part of childhood. Before finding Charlie House, many of the children we support are told what they can’t do and miss out on many of the fun things that children should do.
“At Charlie House, we firmly believe in making the impossible possible and thanks to funds raised at events such as the Big Bounce, children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions can take part in activities their families never thought possible. From wheelchairs on a paddleboard to accessible surfing to cuddling goats on a farm visit, the children and families we support can experience memorable moments together.
“The activities and support we provide are at no cost to the families with work with. This is what makes events like the Big Bounce so special, families enjoying a day of fun while directly helping other families in our local community enjoy activities too.”

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired said: “Charlie House’s Big Bounce really is one of the most joyous events in the Granite City’s calendar and Aberdeen Inspired is proud to be part of it.
“It is always a true delight to see Union Terrace Gardens come alive with the colourful bouncy castles and games, not to mention the huge smiles and shrieks of laughter from so many children having the time of their lives.
“Big Bounce creates a true carnival atmosphere in the gardens, bringing people flocking to the city centre, increasing footfall and boosting local businesses. The biggest boost, though, is the one which Charlie House will enjoy as the funds raised will help them carry out their vital work.”
Aberdeen Inspired is a returning sponsor of the Big Bounce.
