John Brebner, Chief Executive Officer

With a wealth of leadership skills, numerous board level roles, and more than 40 years in the finance sector, John leads the strategy and vision at Charlie House. Passionate about not only completing the build of our support centre, John also aims to expand on our long-term strategy outwith the Big Build Appeal to ensure continued progression for the charity and our service users.

Emma Leiper Finlayson, Director of Fundraising

A skilled third sector leader with over twelve years’ experience in leading local and national fundraising teams, delivering capital appeals, and driving national campaigns, Emma is passionate about connecting people to causes and making amazing things happen for people in our community. At Charlie House, Emma oversees the fundraising and marketing & communications team, working closely with them and our wonderful supporters to make the Big Build Appeal a reality and make more special memories for children and their families.

Leigh Ryrie, Children & Family Support Manager

A qualified nursery nurse and Senior Hospital Play Specialist with more than 20 years' experience providing bereavement support and training, working with children and families of a variety of ages, stages and medical conditions. Leigh is also a Child Protection trainer and officer for Charlie House with the main purpose of her role seeing her work alongside families to identify their needs and how best to provide information and practical support that will really make a difference to their lives.

Lindsey Caldwell, Finance Manager

A chartered accountant for more than 35 years, Lindsey worked in private practice for over 10 years. She moved to the energy sector, latterly serving as Vice President for Wood, Operations business, across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Having retired in 2022, Lindsey decided retired life was not for her. An opportunity to work for Charlie House came along, which would fulfil her desire to work in the third sector.  She is delighted to be working for a local charity, using her skills to help Charlie House grow and flourish, whilst ensuring financial reporting and governance is in place.
