Volunteer with Charlie House and give the gift of time
Thousands of volunteers across the North-east of Scotland make an amazing contribution to the third sector and provide vital hours of support to charities and the families which they support.
Our volunteers are an integral and invaluable part of Team Charlie House. Every single hour they contribute makes a difference to the babies, children, young people and families we support.
Some of our volunteers gift an occasional hour or two, some a whole day, and some make a regular commitment every week or month. We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available for each and every individual, based on their available time. These opportunities include:
Volunteer Market Host/Retail Assistant:
As Bon Accord Aberdeen’s nominated charity, we are lucky to have various units within the shopping mall where we can help raise funds and awareness of Charlie House, including Curated Aberdeen market. Volunteers play a key role in the success of these activities helping to create a warm, friendly welcome. Individuals taking on this role should be confident with the ability to meet, greet and engage with customers, showcasing Charlie House and our Big Build Appeal. Volunteers will help at the Charlie House stand selling Charlie House merchandise. Volunteers will be helping at a range of themed events throughout the year, in a fast-paced and fun-filled environment.
Volunteer ReCHarge Café Host:
ReCHarge Café Volunteer Hosts play an important role in the running of our social enterprise café within Bon Accord all year round. This role involves meeting and greeting customers, serving and engaging with customers at front of house, ensuring the café and servery area are clean and tidy, and selling of Charlie House merchandise.
Fundraising & Event Volunteers:
Help us raise funds and awareness for Charlie House. We are always looking for supporters to help set up and run events, marshal races, cheer on our fundraisers at runs and cycles, sell our raffle tickets and merchandise, help with a bucket collection and help us get our orange collection cans out and about. You could be the face of Charlie House – representing us at cheque presentations or attending and giving talks to community groups.
And there’s more!
Volunteers give their time in many different ways including office support, distributing our newsletter, deliveries and collections, and being our mascot Charlie Dog or his guide. Our volunteer opportunities are endless and can be tailored to you and your availability. If you have an interest or skill you think would help Charlie House, we would love to hear from you.
