Charlie House 1,000 Mile Challenge
A journey of a 1,000 miles begins with a single step...
Are you looking for your 2021 fitness challenge? Then look no further! Sign up to run, walk, swim or cycle 1,000 miles during 2021 to raise money for Charlie House.
We want to give you a guide on what to expect. Did you know that 1,000 miles is equal to approximately:
- 2,000,000 steps
- Or 5,476 steps a day for the whole year
- Or 10,959 steps a day for six months
If that sounds too much why not grab four friends, take on 200 miles each, and aim to complete it in one month? This would mean walking approximately 14,000 steps each day over the month.
Doing 1,000 miles sounds like a big distance but you can take it one step at a time and complete is as quickly or as slowly as you like. You can start the challenge any time throughout 2021, but the later you leave it the more challenging it will be. By taking part you will not only be supporting the work of Charlie House, you will also get a huge boost to your own fitness and wellbeing.
To sign up all you need to do is:
Step 1 - Download and fill out this agreement form and return it to email@example.com
Step 2 - Track your distance - join our Charlie House 1,000 Mile Challenge Strava Club or record your distance manually using our downloadable tracker form
Step 3 - Fundraise. You can set up a fundraising page on JustGiving and add your page to the main challenge page: https://www.justgiving.com/cam... or set up a fundraiser on Facebook and encourage your family and friends to sponsor you. If you like the old-fashioned way you can request a sponsorship form and we will send one out
Step 4 - Send us your distance. Email firstname.lastname@example.org at the end of each month with what distance you have completed, and we will keep a running total.
